About me!
Hi! I'm Amanda! I'm a photographer based in San Diego, California (Carlsbad). A little about myself, I was born in California, grew up in Taiwan, lived in Uruguay for a year, and Utah for five years. So if you need a photographer who speaks, English, Mandarin, or Spanish I've got you ;)
When I’m not taking pictures, I am probably hanging out with my daughter and husband or if there’s time, cooking (Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai food etc). Food is lifeeee! Other things I like to do are play the piano, upcycle my clothes, decorate my animal crossing island, and watch random documentaries on YouTube.
As for photography, I’ve always loved taking pictures as a kid. I started with a digital camera documenting my family and then switched to my first DSLR in high school. I even got an award for one of the photographs I took for my photography class. I continued to take pictures for my friends and family in college and that’s when I noticed my passion for taking beautiful and memorable pictures for people.
Here are some of the things I’ll do as your photographer. Before the session starts, I’ll make sure your makeup and hair are good, you don’t have a hair tie on your wrist, no food stuck between your teeth, and have snacks ready in my bag. I’ll also make sure you’re comfortable and don’t feel awkward in front of the camera. I’ll either crack some jokes that’ll make you laugh, or if you don’t find it funny I’ll probably laugh at my own jokes and you’ll laugh at how awkward and quirky I am haha! During the photo shoot, I’ll let you interact with your loved ones so the photos can look natural and not staged. And don’t worry if you don’t know what to do when the camera is out because I’ll guide you and your loved ones for the beautiful pictures you’ve always dreamed of. I’m the kind of photographer who likes to tell a story through my pictures. I’ll take pictures of your kids playing, your family walking together and smiling at each other, details of your ring, moments where you hug your loved one real tight, tears coming down the groom’s eyes when you walk down the aisle, and your new born baby crying.
